What we collect
When you fill in the survey form
Your name, phone number, and optionally your community, your monthly DEWA bill and whatever you write in the notes field. We collect it to call you back and arrange a survey. That is the only reason. The legal basis is the steps you asked us to take before entering into a contract.
When you use the calculator
Nothing identifying. The calculator runs entirely in your browser — the property type, bill and options you select are never sent to us. We record anonymous events showing that a calculation happened and which options were chosen, so we know which parts of the page are useful.
When you simply read the site
Google Analytics 4 and Yandex Metrica set cookies and record page views, approximate location by IP, device and browser, referring source, and interactions such as clicking a call button. Yandex Metrica additionally records anonymised session replays — mouse movement, scrolling and clicks. Form fields are masked in those recordings; we cannot read what you typed.
What we never do
- We do not sell or rent your details to anyone.
- We do not add you to a mailing list. If you book a survey, you get a call about that survey.
- We do not pass your contact details to other contractors or to lead-generation networks.
- We do not ask for or store payment card numbers on this website.
Who else sees the data
Three processors, and no one else: Netlify (hosting and form submissions, United States), Google (Analytics, and Google Ads conversion measurement) and Yandex (Metrica). Submitting the form sends a copy by email to our own address. Some of these providers store data outside the UAE; where they do, they operate under their own standard contractual protections.
How long we keep it
- Survey enquiries that do not become customers: 24 months, then deleted.
- Customer records: seven years, because UAE tax law requires it.
- Analytics data: 14 months in GA4, 25 months in Metrica, both anonymised.
- Session recordings: retained by Yandex Metrica for up to 15 days.
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email the address above and we will do it within 30 days. Under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law you can also withdraw consent for analytics at any time.
To stop analytics before you contact us:
- Install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on for your browser.
- Use the Yandex Metrica opt-out.
- Or block third-party cookies in your browser. The site works fine without them — the calculator does not depend on any of it.
Cookies
We set no cookies of our own. The cookies on this site come from Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*) and Yandex Metrica (_ym_*), used to tell one visit from another. None of them are advertising cookies placed by us, and none follow you to other websites on our behalf.
Children
This site is aimed at property owners. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. We will not change it quietly and backdate it.
