# Thermal Shield UAE > Villa energy retrofit in Dubai. We reject solar heat before it enters the > building — solar control film on glazing, reflective coating on the roof, > clear water-repellent on the facade, cool coating on pool decks, door seals > and smart thermostats. We sell a calculated, documented reduction of the > DEWA bill, not a construction product. Direct file: https://thermalshield.ae/video/how-it-works.mp4 ## What we do - Solar control window film: clear ceramic, dual-reflective, mirror silver - Cool roof coating: aliphatic polyurethane (10-year waterproofing warranty) or acrylic elastomeric - Facade: clear silane-siloxane impregnation, colour unchanged, no community approval needed. Works on render, brick and tile. - Pool deck: textured cool coating, 15-25 C lower surface temperature - Air sealing of external doors and balcony units - Smart thermostats, one per AC zone - Inverter pool pump replacement ## Typical results, Dubai villa - Bill reduction: 10-25% of the electricity bill, up to about 30% on a villa built before 2011 with single glazing and an uninsulated roof - Time on site: two days, crew of six - Payment: 44% of the total on signature, the remaining 56% in three equal interest-free monthly payments. Post-dated cheques or Tabby. The 44% share is the same on both lines and on any scope. - Payback: from about 24 months on the best-performing configurations ## The guarantee Headline figures on the site are estimates from the bill and property type — a best case, not a promise. After the survey we issue an exact figure for that villa, and on the Certified line that figure goes into the contract as a guarantee. Measurement: the twelve months after the work against the same twelve months before it, adjusted for DEWA tariff changes. A shortfall against the guaranteed figure is refunded in dirhams. Excluded: changes the owner makes — more occupants, an extension, a new pool, an EV charger. The Essential line carries no savings guarantee and we say so plainly. ## How the calculation works Savings are priced at the top DEWA slab including the fuel surcharge, because savings come off the top of the bill rather than the average. Film performance comes from NFRC / EN 410 test reports. The calculated figure is discounted to 75% to reflect the realistic gap between a calculation and a meter reading, and the building envelope's contribution is capped at 40% of the cooling load. ## What we do not claim A clear facade coating does not meaningfully reduce solar heat gain on an opaque wall: it cannot change the wall's colour, and roughly 97% of what a wall absorbs returns to the outside air. We sell it as protection and cleanliness. Coatings marketed as "thermal insulating paint" have no established R-value and we do not use them.
